F.A.Q

You can start this business with the investment of just $500 to $700, The Essential tint tools you require cost around $200 to $300 and a roll of film which is 100cm x 30m will cost $200 to $250. You will require at least 2 different shades i.e. 35% vlt and 20% vlt roll.

There are very few professional tinters as this is a skilled base business, which cannot be bought for money or be copied by anyone, so the demand is high and supply is very low in Australia.

Getting some kind of training is the best way to get into this business. So you don’t waste time and money trying to figure out everything yourself, training would fast track you in starting your own business.

on Average, tinter’s makes around $250 to $500 a Day tinting one car a day ($70,000/ year)  to tinting $1000 a day tinting 2 to 4 cars a day  ($200,000 +/ year)

It all depends on how you want to keep this business, you can keep it small and just tint one car a day which is still $1500 a week for a couple of hours of work, or you can take it big and make $5000+ a week if you really want to.

Great question, it depends if you are home based business this are roughly the prices and profits per car.

  1. Hatchback – $250 and material cost is $20 so you make $230 profit or we call it labour cost.
  2. Sedan – $300 and material cost $30 you make $270 profit
  3. Wagon/4×4  – $350 material cost is $45 and you make $315 profit.

Also, sometimes customers have old tint on the car, which we have to remove and that is an additional cost of $100 to remove the old film before the new installation.

______Tint Shop________

Now, if you are a tint shop  your prices are going to be –  Hatchback, Sedan, Wagon, any car  – $395 (starting price) and material cost is $20 to $30 so you make $350 profit per car or we call it labour cost.

You can increse the cost price by providing different types of film, such.

  1. Standard Carbon film – $395
  2. Nano Ceramic Fim – $495
  3. Sunteck Carbon – $495
  4. Sunteck Nano Ceramic – $695
  5. 3M carbon – $595
  6. 3M Nano ceramic – $795

You don’t need any employees, you can work by yourself and still make 6 figures income.

An average tinter like myself can tint 3-4 cars per day. Some days, depending on the cars, we can do six cars. When a person is starting out and just learning, they should set realistic expectations. To finish a car in a day is realistic, and probably if they did that every day for a month, by the end of the month they should be able to get up to two cars in a day.

99% of the time it should be done in an enclosed area, although there are days that you can tint outside.

Absolutely. Actually the learning curve for doing flat glass work such as businesses and residences is one day. A person literally can go out and start tinting those types of windows the same day that they get their tools and their materials. They’re easy and extremely lucrative once you get your marketing down.

Facebook Market Place and Gumtree in Australia are the best way to getting clients, just one free ad on FB marketplace and your phone will not stop ringing.

No Sorry, We don’t provide refunds as this is a training/service. If you get stuck after the training we help our students via video call for furthur support. But if you decide not to proceed further with the window tinting as a career it is your own decision.
